Women on Wheels
How it started
The origins of Women on Wheels started at an independent bike shop as the Women’s Cycling Collective and later transitioned to a Trek women’s group. Much like everything else, the pandemic put a halt on that program. In December of 2020, Hunter started to get the Facebook page up and running again. From there, Women on Wheels was formed.
Meet Hunter
Hunter wanted to add another thing to her plate, and that is when she started Women on Wheels in December of 2020! What started as just managing another social media page has turned into creating a one of a kind community, and she loves the community that is evolving – each day we are gaining more awesome members.
Hunter is a lady with many hobbies, I mean many hobbies! When she isn’t training for triathlons, she is riding horses, snowboarding, managing too many social media pages, drinking coffee, and checking out the latest and greatest brewery. If you meet her she will probably tell you the best local place to go eat and all about her cat Ella.
Hunter was a Division 1 Equestrian rider at the University of Tennessee at Martin. There she garnered both academic and athletic All-Americans. While in college she found triathlon thanks to her brother. She raced her first triathlon in June of 2014. Since then she has done numerous races, mainly focusing on the 70.3 distance. She has three 70.3 podiums and is the 3x HMF Women’s Triathlon winner.
